Brett began is career at Waterland in 1994 as a plumbing apprentice and became a director of Waterland in 2006

Licenced Plumber, Plan certifier and Pump Technician.

Responsibilities: Construction Manager.

Training: Confined spaces, Asbestos awareness, DAVEY pump servicing course & TORO GDC certificate.

Statements of attainment; Butt & Electro-fusion welding, Extrusion, Welding plastics, Plan certifier & Backflow prevention.

Environmental Management

Waterland recognises the importance of environmental management in our operations, and we are committed to protecting the environment in all aspects possible. We have a strict environmental policy.

We employ extremely high standards when selecting suppliers for our products, and we choose environmentally sustainable products and services. We have procedures in place to ensure that suppliers meet our stringent protocols and requirements.

Our Environmental Management System is based on the principles of ISO 9000 which comprises of our Environmental Policy, our systems for planning, implementing and checking our environmental management strategies and several applicable policies, procedures and forms.

We are committed to managing environmental issues by:

  • Implementing proactive and cost-effective practices that will result in waste reduction, pollution prevention and energy and resource conservation.
  • Setting quantifiable objectives and targets for reducing energy, water consumption, waste and pollution.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
  • Striving for demonstrated leadership in addressing environmental concerns and achieving levels beyond compliance.
  • Implementing detailed policies, procedures and regular training, which will allow us to counsel clients on environmental strategies designed to positively impact their bottom line and the environment.
  • Using only products and services that are environmentally friendly and sustainable.
  • All green waste is taken to a green waste transfer station.
  • All cardboard packaging is recycled.
  • All paper waste is shredded and recycled in dedicated disposal bins to minimise the impact on the environment.

Occupational Health and Safety

Waterland has implemented an Occupational Health and Safety Management System that focuses on an environment where all employees are safe from injury and risk to health while at work.

Waterland’s WH&S policies and procedures provide for the following:

  • a safe workplace and a safe and healthy working environment
  • safe systems of work
  • machinery, equipment and substances in a safe condition
  • information, instruction, training and supervision necessary to ensure that each employee is safe from injury and risks to health
  • effective consultation with employees on all issues that may affect health and safety at work
  • effective injury and illness reporting and investigation, and effective rehabilitation measures for employees who suffer work-related injuries and illnesses.

Waterland has never been convicted of a WH&S offence, and we are happy to provide a list and/or copy of our health and safety policies, procedures and forms if requested.

We will also ensure that all our staff receives appropriate instruction in relation to site health and safety.
